LETTING GO…. is also PRAYER
Once a man was walking on the edge of the Dead Sea. Suddenly, he lost his balance and tumbled into a stretch of deep waters. Unable to swim, he panicked. He started thrashing against the elements of the massive salt lake. Within a few minutes, he felt too exhausted. So he surrendered himself to the waters and waited for death to overpower him at any moment. A pleasant surprise awaited him, instead.
When he surrendered himself to the waters, he felt relaxed and found himself floating on the surface of the water. In his panic, he had forgotten that the Dead Sea contains so much of salt and so many minerals that all he had to do was to trust himself to the buoyancy of the waters and he would keep afloat!!
All we need to do is to let go of our problems, worries, fears and let God take over. Remember the old adage
Let GO… Let GOD
When we come to pray, our spirit is often cluttered. We carry within us the burdens of the past: Our sins, hurts, guilts, resentments, our mistakes, failures, regrets, we are sometimes controlled by the future, fears and anxieties of what may happen, hopes and expectations that do not leave us in peace and of course, we are full of the preoccupations of the present: of our families, work, our relationships and daily problems, not to speak of the ever-present tensions and conflicts in our world. What about memories, experiences, knowledge and pre-conceived notions… Actually what a mess… How to declutter ??
Decluttering, that’s the need of the hour.
It is difficult to still our bodies, minds and emotions so that we come to that minimum of tranquility which is needed for prayer to hear our Creator speaking to us. Often a good part (or even the whole) of our prayer time may be spent in struggling to be calm and still. We are challenged to ‘Let Go’ of all that controls and agitates our hearts.
Marhamm Therapy Sessions helps you declutter. Some simple and effective ways towards decluttering are : An awareness of our breathing or body sensations or of the sounds around us. Just becoming aware without any thinking, reflection or analysis generally leads to an inner peace. When this is disturbed, we gently take up again our exercise of awareness till the sense of peace returns.
‘Letting GO’ in prayer is a good means towards reinforcing an attitude of letting go in our response to everyday life.
After Marhamm therapy sessions, we learn for sure an approach that will help us, liberate us to look at our problems with interior calm and tackle them effectively.
Our energies are not dispersed and dissipated, but focused and productive. We allow ourselves more and more to be led and guided by God’s Spirit- loving, compassionate and fearless. This way, we will be able to contribute in a real way to influencing and shaping the society and the world we live in.
God is dynamic. When we Let Go, we sink and merge into HIM. HE will simply overwhelm us, HE will flood our beings.
We will let our breathing become our prayer of submission to HIM. We will reach a stage where we will say to God, ” My breathing in and out is the expression of my whole being. I do it for you, with you, in you. I have ‘become’ you. You have ‘become’ me. We breathe together.
Then, when we open our eyes we will see HIM in the world of things and people. We will resume responsibility for our future. We again take up our plans, worries and anxieties.
Renewed in strength, we go again on the journey outwards, no longer alone, but in partnership with the Creator.
God bless!!
